Politics in Nigeria can be funny sometimes because of the way politicians go about it. Ninety percent of Nigerian politicians see politics as a means of enriching themselves rather than making life better for the people who voted them into power.

In other climes, most especially the West, venturing into politics is mostly triggered by the drive for selflessness aimed at bettering the lives of the citizens. Nigerian politicians are too desperate, they want to get to power at all means because of love for money and fame.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, the son of veteran actor Pete Edochie has joined the array of political prostitutes in Nigeria. The sad thing is that he is too young to be associated with such an inglorious character. The 36 year old actor who was born as Yul Chibuike Daniel Edochie on 7 January 1982 in Lagos, Nigeria officially became a politician in 2017 where he contested for the gubernatorial election of Anambra State under Democratic Peoples Congress, DPC and he came out 19 out of 37 contestants with a total votes of 145.

Yul Edochie, a bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts from the University of Port Harcourt defected to APGA this year in other to become relevant in the political sphere and equally get something from the State government due to the decline of his fortunes from the movie industry. July 6, this year, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Creative & Entertainment Media to Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano with a basic salary above N300,00 excluding allowances.

However, six months after becoming an APGA member and a political appointee, Yul Edochie again dump APGA defects to PDP. He announced his defection today where he thanked Governor Obiano for giving him the opportunity to serve under his government in the capacity of Senior Special Assistant (SSA).

What is Yul Edochie looking for at his young age?Being a neophyte in politics, APGA would have been the best party for him to be groomed and become matured politically. Jumping from one party to another won’t do him any good but rather destroy his political career. Within a year he joined politics he has already dumbed two parties. What would happen if PDP fails to clinch power in 2019  will he defect again?
